Awareness campaign and delivery of kits for responsible animal ownership

Awareness campaign and delivery of kits for responsible animal ownership

This action is the result of the City Council's Department of the Environment and aims to raise public awareness of good practices for the care and welfare of animals, while promoting responsible behavior that avoids uncivil acts, such as soiling of roads. or any inconvenience this may cause to other users and neighbors.

To get this message across, from 17 February an information stand will be set up 4 days a week for 10 weeks in different areas of Roses, both in the town center and in the housing estates. The environmental informants will offer all the necessary explanations regarding animal registration, chip identification, necessary documentation depending on the type of animal, adoption, hygienic conditions and applicable regulations in accordance with the municipal ordinance of Roses.

To make things easier such as collecting and cleaning pet feces, a kit of material consisting of a urine cleaning bottle, a dispenser and bags for collecting excrement will also be provided. On the other hand, the City Council offers all the information and regulations to be taken into account by pet owners through its roses.cat website. You can consult the information through this link .

It's about raising awareness about the obligations and responsibilities that we assume when adopting or buying a pet, both in terms of care, and animal welfare, as well as our commitment to the rest of the population . " For Joan Plana, Mayor of Roses, "pets are part of families and today they are already considered as one more family member. Now it's time for them to be part of cities as well, and to achieve this integration it is necessary to ensure a good coexistence and make available spaces adapted for them, such as the corre-can created in Roses two years ago ".
